Hello, I’m Laura. I’m a writer and artist living in Upstate NY. I’m originally from Seattle, WA, and I studied art and zoology at the University of Washington and Cornell University. When not riding a bicycle in jeans, I’m usually hectoring my family about dishcloth etiquette or working in my studio. Dudes, the dishcloth needs to be wrung out, okay?

I didn’t ever envision myself as a creator of books for young people, but this is an excellent way to funnel my wobbly drawings into something that might confuse and interest smaller humans. As a kid, I always loved books that rewarded attention to detail, so I strive to put some random squirrels and things in wherever I can.
